Phase 1 of the LRMI project has been completed! Hats off to all of our teams hard work at Knovation, AEP, The Learning Registry and Educational Systemics! We have made great progress this past year and are driving forward with the start of phase 2 August 15, 2012.
We have seen participation from publishers such as Adaptive Curriculum, BetterLesson, CK-12 Foundation, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Learning Media, Learning Station, McGraw-Hill, NSTA, PCI Education, and more.
The LRMI is a new standard for embedding machine-readable metadata into an HTML document—in other words, it’s a way to include information ABOUT a web page directly IN the web page in such a way that search platforms (i.e., Bing, Google, Yahoo!) can understand. Ultimately, it will enable educators, students, and parents to filter search results by criteria such as content area, grade level, and alignment to academic standards.
